A new chapter

I wish this blog is really all about me, an online diary or a sanctuary where I can pour my heart out and put my thoughts and feelings into words. But I'm not really that sort of person who tells the entire world about my sorrows & despair. Life took a wrong turn on me towards the end of 2011 and it's left me leaving a lot of things unattended, one of them is this blog. I think it's quite alright for me to leave this blog world for awhile although I thought about it a lot and how I miss it but I couldn't write or think of anything to write about.

I was on the low and didn't know when or how was I going to go through it and when I'll be able to get up, stand on my two feet and start walking again. It's one of those moments in life where there were lies, betrayal and a string of other problems which came along. You could say I was pretty much "destroyed".

Nothing stays at the bottom for long and I'd like to proclaim that in the name of Jesus. With him, everything wrong can turn right again and everything that was destroyed can be rebuilt and this time it'll be built even better, stronger and more beautiful. I've only just stood up and looking around and making some plans and direction and I'm still praying about it. I'm looking forward to start walking again and even more towards running! I'm starting a new chapter in life and appropriately its a new chapter to begin the new year with. To a new life, new year, new job, new environment, to a new 2012.

Gone for a moment

Last night I decided I wanted to update my blog and when I opened it up I had a huge surprise from Blogger. My blog was REMOVED! I felt my heart breaking, mind fuming & I just wanted to kill someone. I was only away for a month I thought to myself and how can this be? It says I have not logged in since 2007 which is ridiculous! I felt like I was in a nightmare, so I verified some information with Blogger, they sent me some pass code & I guess that worked after 24hrs or so because this morning my friend informed me that she's looking at my blog and it's fine. So here I am now in my office writing this. I'm so glad its back up because I spent hell-lotta time on this blog before. Anyway since I was so upset last night I also suddenly had a large dose of motivation & ideas for a new blog which I wanted to start again but since this is back up I'll add my ideas to this.
I'm just so glad to be back without having to start all over & seriously thinking of a new blog name can be a real pain.

Bonjour from Geneva

I'm terribly sorry for my lack of posts lately as I have been tremendously busy with work and also planning & preparing for my holiday.

I'm currently in Geneva and I arrived here yesterday morning with the bf. It was rainy the entire yesterday unfortunately and funny enough it was sunny and beautiful out all the days before we arrived. Sigh. It's now 5:55am and I'm wide awake.

We are staying at the bf's aunt Kathy's and her home is beautiful. Clean white walls with many paintings & sculptures and decorative pieces all around the house. I love my room as it reminds me of my own room back home. I'm loving the heated floors around the house and in my own bathroom too. My showers during the cold seasons has never been more comfortable ever.

Later today we will probably be going to the mountains. Can't wait for that! Till the next post!

I just realised that  I have Gossip Girl on TV right now and it's the episode Rachel Zoe attended Queen B's birthday party as I'm blogging this. IRONIC!

I relate my own personal style closest to hers amongst my other style icons. It's quite a feeling to see the pieces which she's being photographed in are the ones I drool and yearn for. Boy Chanel

I've come to terms with the fact that I will never own a classic Chanel, be it the 2.55 or the Timeless Classic CC flap bags. It's unfortunate that this iconic bag has suddenly gone mass market if you can put it that way. Everyone is carrying a classic Chanel flap bag, even college students! I've never really been the type to be drawn to anything simple and classic. But I'm drawn to these Chanel Boy Collection bags from the F/W2011 presentation. I love how when they are stacked and at first glance they look like books. I love the chunky thick chain, the non iconic buckle which looks like a door lock and I love how it does not have a big brand give-away.
The Boy Collection is said to be inspired by cartridge bags used by hunters. Karl Lagerfeld stated: “Chanel used men’s underwear to make dresses; she had this boyish attitude, in fact it is the very spirit of Chanel. She got it from Boy Capel, the great love of her life, which, incidentally, explains why the new bag is called the Boy Chanel.”
I can't wait till these arrive at the stores, I'm definitely checking them out.

Merci Beaucoup! I'm flattered.

I have been getting heaps of inquiries though e-mail, phone calls and also comments on Glampot's Facebook asking if the accessories seen on myself are for sale?! It has now even extended to my clothes. I still find it strange that people ask how much are the necklaces & rings I'm wearing when it is pretty clear that only the bag is for sale. We also received a call today which was pretty hilarious, inquiring on the prices for the clothes I had on in the past few days and the sizes available. Some of our customers even said to me that they check out the Glampot FB page just to see what I'm wearing. Maybe I should document and blog my daily outfits...or maybe I won't. I'm still indecisive as I have no intentions to be a style blogger. Anyhow I would like to extend my appreciation to all of you and I'm totally flattered for the compliments & inquiries.

p/s : I am still making my accessories...I just need to allocate time for it and it's getting harder now with my heavy work load

Mcqueen Fall2011

Did I mention I'm in terrible need of a new wardrobe? Can I just have everything from Alexander Mcqueen's Fall 2011 collection pretty please? I'm pretty sure I'll figure out where to wear it all to and I must say Sarah Burton did a fantastic job here!

The last 2 white gowns are simply breathtaking! A girl can dream what a girl wants to dream. ;)

Kelly Wearstler FW 2011 RTW

I did a double take when I read KW next to FW11. My favorite interior designer turned jewelry designer now has another new creative venture to add to her portfolio - Fashion Designer. This is her first RTWcollection, the design and styling definitely has her name stamped all over it. If you've followed Kelly long enough you will know her personal sense of style for design, be it interior, jewelry or fashion, mixing different prints together, bold pop of turquoise and pink are some of her eclectic whimsy looks which will be available on the 5th floor of Bergdorfs.

Style.com reviewed that she'll have to insert more personality into the collection next time. The clutches and costume jewelry, maybe because they're closer to her bread and butter, had a stronger point of view.

I think she did a fantastic job translating her own sense of style into fashion, to me it's a job well done for a first collection but I do also partially agree with the review. I would definitely wear most of the pieces there. Here are a few of my favorites!
